Nahavand rugs are made in a village of the same in same in the Hamadan region of NW Iran. They are very distinctive rugs due to the fact the border design encroaches into the main ground. They are woven with lovely lustrous long stapled wool and have rich vibrant dyes. They are amazing value for money, perhaps because they only use non trendy red, blue, cream and a shocking pink and acidic green highlight! I LOVE the ‘space invade’ motif on this example.
