Persian Gabbeh rugs are made by the tribal weavers of the Shiraz region of south-central Iran, mainly by the Qashqai but also the Luri. They are made in both light and heavy weights, using dyed and un-dyed wool, which is of a tremendous lustrous feel and quality. They are hand knotted in designs ranging from one small corner motif to repeating rows of blocks or stylized animals. Indian copies are available but are nowhere near the quality of the Iranian wool. THE most comfortable rug on the market!

Please use your rug with a suitable underlay which will protect the back of the knots and allow dirt to fall through the rug. Vacuum sparingly, once a week is sufficient, and do so on a low power and without the rotating brush, as this strips the pile. Clean professionally at least once every five years. Turn your rug every year if possible to even out footfall patterns and sun fading. Never leave your rug undisturbed under furniture in the dark. Keep a moth trap in the room if possible.
