Alexander the Great handwoven wool tapestry – 2.55×2.56

A remarkably well-drawn and superbly coloured handwoven tapestry scene of Alexander the Great accepting allegiance from conquered Eastern people. Born in 356BCE and widely considered to be history’s greatest military leader, he cut a swathe across the lands to the east of Greece – Turkey, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan and India before dying in Iran on his circular route back home in 323BCE.
